Magic Tree House: Dolphins at Daybreak (A 1st Grader’s Book Review)

I was able to get my daughter to sneak in a quick review this weekend.  (Yes, I was the mean mommy that asked her hard-working daughter to write a review during her weekend free time!)  This is book #9 of the Magic Tree House collection.  She’s read books 1-9 (except for #6 as it’s missing in her classroom right now) so far.

Title:  Dolphins at Daybreak

Author:  Mary Pope Osborne

Morgan asked Jack and Annie a riddle so Jack and Annie went to the ocean to find the answer.

The scary part was that the hammerhead sharks almost broke the submarine and the octopus grabbed the submarine.  It was scary because the sharks almost ate Jack and Annie.

The funny part was when Annie stopped on something.  She was like, OWWWWWCH! She said this can be the answer to the riddle. She said, “But where’s the beauty?” She looked inside and the pearl was the beauty.

The sad part was when the sub couldn’t move any more and then Jack and Annie had to swim so they swam to the beach.  Then Jack wanted to rest, but the more he floated, the more he got tired.  He started to sink.  I didn’t want him to drown.

The fun part was when Annie and Jack saw the dolphins and Annie gave the dolphins a kiss.

The weird part was when the tree house was on the ground not in a tree.  This was only in this book but I’m not sure why.
